ok, 'parent' just means the comment before.
to watch someone, you go onto their profile page (either click on their name, and on the bicture by their name) and there's a thingy that says 'devwatch' you click that, and DA then notifies you about everything that person does. like, it telld you when ever they submit something, deviation or journal.
